St. Mary Annual Stag Holiday (SMASH) was founded in 1973 by a group of men who graduated from St. Mary High School as a means to give back to the school. The continued efforts of these gentlemen and new members have allowed this fine tradition to continue without fail for decades. Since 1973 SMASH has raised over $500,000 by means of an annual golf outing. Of the funds raised, approximately $80,000 in scholarships have been given to students from the 8th grade class who attend Catholic high school. These are typically $1000 scholarships awarded to three boys and three girls. The remainder is given back to the school for supplies, equipment or other items by means of a "wish list" received from every teacher. Your support is needed more than ever to maintain this fine tradition as 2012 may prove to be a greater challenge for charitable events.
