Help us Make a Difference in the World… take advantage of the St. Mary School Computer and Small Electronic Recycling Days. Join us for the Public Drop-Off on Saturday, March 8 from 9-12 in the Union Street Parking Lot and Sunday, March 9 from 9-3 on Grand Street by the awning. Fill your car or truck with old computer equipment, clocks, VCRs, video games, and more. For a suggested donation of $5 per family to support St. Mary School, we will take all of your small electronic waste. All times will be recycled by Computer Recyclers of Michigan and kept out of landfills. St. Mary Families can continue to drop off items March 10-13.
To make this program a success, students and parents from Grades 6-8 are invited to assist with directing traffic and unloading recyclables from cars. If you and your student are available to help, please download an E-Trash Volunteer form and return it to school as soon as possible.
Each year, Saint Mary School participates in Doodle 4 Google, a national competition for students in Kindergarten-8th Grade to redesign the Google logo, based upon a common theme for a chance to win a $30,000 college scholarship. This year's theme is "If I Could Invent One Thing to Make the World a Better Place . . ." Students are invited to download an entry form and start doodling! Paints, markers, crayons, pencils, and digital media can all be used, as long as the finished product is flat an scannable. The drawing MUST be done on the official entry form. St. Mary School will submit entries on behalf of students. All completed entries must submitted to Miss Manore by Thursday, March 14. For additional information, visit the Doodle 4 Google page or download a St Mary Doodle flyer. Need some inspiration to get started? Check out previous entries from St Mary School in our Doodle 4 Google gallery.
Have you heard the news? St. Mary School earned Emerald Status in its Green School designation and was named "Top Overall Green School Program" in Macomb County. The school wide efforts of students, staff, and parents has helped us Green School status for three years in a row as part of the Michigan Green School program.
